Catholic School Gets Rid of “Crusaders” Name to Avoid Offending Muslims

Political correctness is a scourge on our nation. Thankfully, Donald Trump has been elected president…that will go a long way towards fixing things. But I don’t think it’s going to totally stop the disease, so we should mock the practitioners of this dark art as much as possible. I didn’t hear about this case until today, but I think it’s ripe for laughs. Imagine a school changing their team name because it might offend Muslims. Sounds pretty silly, right?

Well, it happened. It’s also a Catholic school, which for some reason makes this whole thing even more amusing to me. I went to a Catholic school from K-6th grade and I could not imagine those people giving one single fuck about something like this. I guess times have changed…for the worse.

Clarke University has been the home of the Crusaders for the last 40 years, but pretty soon their mascot’s name will change from the Clarke Crusaders to the Clarke Pride…

Some say the name is offensive, including the Charity of Sisters Blessed Virgin Mary who founded the university. “The name Crusader refers to really the marriage between religion and violence,” said Sister and Clarke faculty member Paulette Skiba.

It refers to the history of battles between Christians and Muslims over the Holy Land during the Dark Ages.

The Sisters have been working on this for quite some time. However, recent events helped bring along this change.

“Culturally we’re at a time where there is a lot of religious intolerance and bigotry and you simply can’t redefine that word to people on the outside, or people who say, you’re the Crusaders?” Sister Paulette said…

Leaders with the BVM Sisters sent us a statement saying, “Today, being more attuned to the power or language and being a community of forward thinkers and learners, this is the right move for a Catholic university rooted in the values of the BVM Sisters – education, charity, justice and freedom – to take.

I don’t know what the point of this is, other than to virtue signal. Do they think anyone would care about this in the first place? Plus, Crusaders is just a badass name for a team. The new one, Pride, sounds whack. Whatever. Good luck, sisters. This was a dumbass move, though.

The Catholic Church has been moving in a very anti-Western direction for awhile now and it makes sense when you think about it’s demographics for a moment. Just look at where they’re growing and where they’re shrinking, look at the pope they elected and his background. The Catholic Church is increasingly a church of third world shitholes and it’s collective will, values and political consensus is now reflecting that.

The West is secular, so we’ve been living in a “post-Christian era” for a while now and you’re totally right about where Christianity and Catholicism is spreading – 3rd world shit holes. Catholic institutions are hypocritical and leech money from where they spread and the Evangelicals in their varying forms spread intense bigotry (and also siphon money any way they can). The current Pope is trying to reform Catholicism to be more reflective of New Testament values as opposed to the opulent glory of the Middle Ages and Renaissance. The Cardinalate fucking HATE him. They are, according to Canon Law, Princes of the Church and the Vatican is the House of God. Hellsing Ultimate Abridged basically sums up all the reasons why the elite within the Church fucking loathe that “Argentinian wind bag”.

Maybe we’ll get lucky and witness another two Pope era, I can’t remember exactly why Catholicism split and warred with itself the last time but I think it kicked off for less than the sort of heretical cuckery that turd imposing on them.

Given it’s oh so colorful history the one really nice thing I could say about the Roman Catholic Church is that it did a great deal over the centuries to combat Islam. If it can no longer perform that function than it truly has become worse than worthless as an institution.

It was around the legitimacy of a King and an excommunication I believe

It suddenly struck me that the nuns in question here, the ones who lobbied and worked to appease Muslims even though they’re the brides of Christ have literally cucked Jesus himself.

            They cucked Jesus.

Being offended only matters if you’re not white now.
You know what’s offensive to me?
Changing something related to your religion or heritage to pander to a different religion of people for no other reason than to not offend them, especially when they care not one bit for your people, uses force against your people at every opportunity and converts your people into traitors of your people.

But no, we don’t want to offend them.

It’s a Catholic school… it is, by definition, offensive to Muslims as, according to Sharia, everyone is supposed to be attending Madrasas.

    No, no, no!

The correct response is “Deus Vult!”.

I am so sick of this religious intolerance crap. The sheer irony of it is that ALL religions are intolerant by their very claim to legitimacy – only ONE can be “right” after all – and that includes sects.

Yes, the crusaders were horrible people, riding in to free the pilgrims the muslims were harassing who just wanted to visit Jerusalem.
