Sometimes you get a sneak peek of something so funny that you really want to open your mouth and share it with the whole world. That happened to me this past week, when Seattle4Truth (S4T) gave me a preview of his new video on the UN. You guys saw their apology yesterday, and like me, you probably thought it was bullshit. Well, there’s one thing they weren’t lying about. The UN is far from done with internet censorship. In fact, they’re just getting started.
The funny part I was talking about was how all this information was discovered. It was right there in plain sight on their websites. I can hardly believe the audacity here, but they likely figured that no one would bother checking their shit out. Well, someone did, and his name is S4T. Like me, the guy is somewhat controversial. But this information cannot be ignored because you may have issues with the messenger. Take a look and you’ll see what I mean. He found out about their hashtag plotting. By the way, it’s scheduled to debut tomorrow:
Here’s an excerpt from a transcript of Seattle’s video, which details an actual conversation these safe space nuts were having:
The choice of language was also noted as important to framing, particularly with the use of words like ‘abuse’, ‘victim’ and ‘survivor’ in relation to the issue. In one research project described during the discussion, many women did not recognize themselves as ‘victims’ as they fail to see certain conduct online as abusive, while the term ‘abuse’ is problematic because many communities still do not view certain online behavior as abusive and thus access to redress is limited.
On the other hand, naming behavior as ‘violence’ (as opposed to ‘abuse’) was also discussed, including the availability of remedies in response to ‘violence’, as well as broad conversations around the idea and scope of hate speech.
So, they tried to fan the flames of bullshit by framing this whole thing as a violence issue. They don’t care that this actually cheapens real issues. They want their tweets and SJW media pimpage no matter who it hurts. It’s all about money at the end of the day for these people. If their tripe goes over enough they get notice. More of that means more money in their bank account. Effecting meaningful change is not high on their list.
And even if it was, the change they’re going for is not something I want to be a part of. They’re putting the free and open Internet at risk with these campaigns. The only silver lining is they’re completely incompetent. How they thought making all this info publicly available was a good idea is beyond me. S4T was in their meeting this morning, for fuck’s sake. Please keep providing the lulz, UN stooges. This has been a golden couple of weeks for sure. Keep in mind that it’s not just the UN, though. A Disney exec is tied up in this, as well as reps from the Council of Europe and the UK government. I’m sure that’s only the tip of the proverbial iceberg. More is going to come out in the days and weeks to come.
