I thought I had seen it all when it comes to this election, but I guess I was wrong. Pictures from outside the Clinton vs Trump debate tonight at Hofstra University show that there’s a literal trigger warning setup. Yes, for real. I understand that this is a university, and we’ve talked about how many of them have fallen very far from their mission when it comes to free speech and open debate, but this is ridiculous. If you can’t even make it through a fucking presidential debate without being triggered, maybe you should be in a mental facility somewhere and not out in public.
This is what it’s come to, ladies and gentlemen.
UPDATE: A Twitter user told me it’s actually for some MTV event that’s being held at the same time as the debate. Still, I think most of my points stand in regards to trigger warnings themselves, and the headline is still correct.
Get rid of this shit altogether. It’s a bad joke.
