As you know, we’ve done some reporting on TotalBiscuit over the last year or so. I even appeared on a stream with the man himself last fall. However, I can’t claim to be any friend of his, beyond our interactions there and on Twitter a couple times. I did know he’s been bravely battling cancer over the last year, and I’ve greatly admired his courage in the face of such an obstacle. I seriously doubt that I could do the same when given the same hand he’s been dealt. Today, he released some very sad news about his struggle:

Well, I don’t know if there is really a right way to tell people this, so I guess here goes. The CT did not come back negative. The cancer in the bowel is gone, but spots have appeared in my liver. They’re not operable and there’s no cure. Average life expectancy is 2-3 years, though there are outliers that live much longer. I’ll be back on chemo in a few weeks, with the goal of pushing it back and keeping it there for as long as possible. I fully intend to be the outlier, the average is this way because most people that get this are old and not strong anymore. Who knows what they’ll come up with in the next decade? I intend to beat it for as long as possible. Gonna need some time to process all of this. I don’t really feel anything right now. Thanks.

I just wanted to wish him the best during this arduous fight, and put up a post so all of you can do the same. We never fully know what the future holds, so there may be a way out of this. I’m going to hope for the best and I know you guys will be doing the same thing. There’s not really much else to say, besides this: I would like to personally thank TB myself, for what he has done for the consumer, as well as all the entertainment he has provided me over the years. We have got your back throughout all this, sir. Keep fighting. We’re all right there with you.

UPDATE: Here’s something people are trying to get going on Twitter. I don’t know if it will work or not, but it’s worth trying, in my opinion…

  1. Not even 1 SJW. If I see even a single SJW celebrate this in any way, well, let’s just say it’s in my best interest not to get specific.

    1. There is one on a starcraft subreddit. I don’t even want to mention his name to receive fame for being a rotten human being.

      1. There’s also Amanda Thorntree (surprise sur-fucking-prise).

You know, she who claimed that TB was using his cancer as, quote, “a free pass to harass women”? Yeeeeeah.

  2. What a shame. I’ve been watching his vids for a few years. He’s turned me on to some good games and steered me away from some shitty ones. Hope he fights back this horrible disease.

  3. this is such terrible news this man is the very heart of the video game community his loss will affect everyone and everything. im utterley stunned by this.

    1. I’ll bet Jenny Mcdermott, Arthur Chu, Anita/Mcintosh will say something along the lines of “TB was a racist and a misogynist. The fact that people ignore this just because he died of cancer is shocking. Good riddance”, While Mcintosh mourns the death of OSAMA FUCKING BIN LADEN!

      1. Ugh I actually feel legitimate hate for these people. I think someone has to expose them for the monsters they are. Because they are sub human…no that’s wrong, they lack a soul.

  4. I can’t say I’m a TB fan but it sucks for anyone to go through what he is & all you can do is feel sympathy for him & his family. I don’t think we’re going to see any SJW’s publicly say anything negative. The backlash would be most impressive.

    1. Same. I never really got into the guy’s videos, personally, but I do nevertheless have some respect for him as a fellow GG advocate, and one of the more out-spoken members of our cause, no less. Really sucks to see this kinda thing happen to him, but hopefully he pulls through long enough for medical advancements to improve his condition.

    1. Wholeheartedly agree he’s an asshole, and I lost total respect for him ages ago.

However, not sure I’d even wish this kind of fate on my worst enemy… :-/

  5. Absolutely shocked. Hope he comes out of this okay, because in cases like this it’s very possible to live much longer than expected and some even successfully beat it and survive.

  6. Fuck, why does this never happen to hateful fucktards? Seriously, prayers out to TB and his family. Too good a guy for this shit.

    1. Even then, I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. Cancer fucking sucks, and it sucks for everyone involved. As much as I don’t like them, I wouldn’t wish this on any SJW, not even Anita or Zoe.

      1. I don’t think he’s wishing it as much as asking of all people it should hit, why is it so often good people?

        1. Because life is unfair that way. Good people die younger than they should while vile creatures just fucking stay around like the parasites they are.

  7. Honestly before #Gamergate I had no idea who he was but from everything I have seen since I have grown to greatly respect him.

Theres not much else to say other then I hope he puts up one hell of a fight! I wish him and his family all the best during this time! It can be easy to forget that when one person gets ill like this the rest goes through it with them..(at least the ones that stick around… sorry personal experience)

  8. I’ve seen cancer eat away my Grandfather first hand and I know enough to know that cancer fucking sucks and it’s a plight that no one deserves.

My thoughts are with TotalBiscuit. and I hope he puts up a hell of a fight. But yeah, thoughts are with the guy, no one deserves that to happen to them.

    1. Same. My great-grandmother died of cancer, and I think one of my aunts did too. Best of luck, wishes, and prayers go to TB

  9. Just heard about this on Twitter. I won’t be surprised if some radfems and SJWs gloat about it, because TB clearly deserves to die a slow and painful death because he disagreed with them. /s

  10. Monty Oum, one of my closest friends and TB, this year sucks for capable people of similar age to me. Here’s hoping TB sees all he can see, or that some miracle cure will turn up.

  11. I’ve been a fan of TB since around 2010, been watching his channel when he puts out new videos. I hope things get better for him, he doesn’t deserve this. I hope he understands that there are good people out there who wish him well, and I am one of those people.
