Here’s a hilarious story I saw The Hollywood Reporter Twitter account retweet. By the way, I really enjoy their website. They cover an amazing amount of ground and they’re usually pretty fair. THR isn’t perfect, of course, but it’s probably my favorite entertainment site as of now.

From, as I said previously, THR

It’s time to get honest about the most divisive movie of the summer.

Director Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot faced an uphill battle from the beginning, with its trailer the most disliked in YouTube history and the film going on to open to tepid box-office returns (and a $70 million loss for Sony).

In a nod to the vitriolic Internet comments the film inspired, Honest Trailers preemptively disabled the comments for this one.

“Get ready for the film everyone rushed to judge before they’ve even judged, and proved to all the haters,” the narrator says before trailing off. “…it’s bad. I’m not going to lie to you guys.”

Like I said, THR isn’t perfect, so they go on to talk about harassment and all that garbage afterwards, but to be fair, it was because the Honest Trailers video itself talked bout it. Look, if you don’t want to be “harassed,” then get the fuck out of the public arena. I’ve said the same thing time and time again. Part of being a public person is dealing with haters…and some of those haters are unhinged. That’s just how it goes. If you don’t like it, keep your shit to yourself. It’s that simple.

Here’s the Honest Trailers video itself, if you would like to watch it:
