Here’s a hilarious story I saw The Hollywood Reporter Twitter account retweet. By the way, I really enjoy their website. They cover an amazing amount of ground and they’re usually pretty fair. THR isn’t perfect, of course, but it’s probably my favorite entertainment site as of now.

From, as I said previously, THR

It’s time to get honest about the most divisive movie of the summer.

Director Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot faced an uphill battle from the beginning, with its trailer the most disliked in YouTube history and the film going on to open to tepid box-office returns (and a $70 million loss for Sony).

In a nod to the vitriolic Internet comments the film inspired, Honest Trailers preemptively disabled the comments for this one.

“Get ready for the film everyone rushed to judge before they’ve even judged, and proved to all the haters,” the narrator says before trailing off. “…it’s bad. I’m not going to lie to you guys.”

Like I said, THR isn’t perfect, so they go on to talk about harassment and all that garbage afterwards, but to be fair, it was because the Honest Trailers video itself talked bout it. Look, if you don’t want to be “harassed,” then get the fuck out of the public arena. I’ve said the same thing time and time again. Part of being a public person is dealing with haters…and some of those haters are unhinged. That’s just how it goes. If you don’t like it, keep your shit to yourself. It’s that simple.

Here’s the Honest Trailers video itself, if you would like to watch it:

  1. The Honest Trailers people are regressive SJWs. They made a dig at GamerGate in their Wreck-It Ralph review and subsequently defended the abortion of a movie that was Ghostbusters 2016. This is why they are so sour in the video, because they have to eat crow and admit that it’s a piece of garbage.

Also gotta love them calling Trump hateful and then immediately playing the victim – “I’m getting doxxed tonight.”.

They have disabled comments because quite a lot of them will be told you so, which will reflect bad on their channel.

    1. Yes. I commend them for finally saying SOMETHING about this terrible, pathetic movie. SJ has really disappointed me with this ghostbusters business and it has cost them a ton of my respect. This trashy movie was one of the very few movies in existence that you could judge solely on trailers and clips pre release. It was going to be trash and it ended up being trash.

I just don’t know which is the case for SJ: SJW pussies or afraid to death of SJW pussies who tend to be crazed maniacs and react with violence. In either case I lost respect for them. RLM went straight after GB for what it was and the SJWs came out of the woodwork to attack them or just shaming them in general, but RLM took it like champs. I guess SJ just isn’t the kind of show and people I thought they were. I mean, I kind of knew from past content, but I never would have guessed to what extent if not for the GB2016 movie.

      1. My bet is them being SJW pussies, due to their active defence of that piece of crap. Even in this review they try to insert a narrative.

  2. If they wanted to do a reboot. they should have picked a diverse cast (male and female) instead of going all girl power. They would not have got so much hate if they did that.

  3. Eh. I liked it. I did think that the reason they disabled comments was to mock the videos that did it unironically.
