EDITOR’S NOTE: There’s a new operation that’s been getting a lot of attention over the last day or so, and I want to reprint it here to give it as much shine as possible. I’m not sure if it will do any good or not, but it’s worth at least exploring. So, here’s the op, reprinted down below. It was written by Thurin, and he got the DeepFreeze stuff, from, fittingly enough, DeepFreeze. Let me know what you think of the initiative down below as well. I’ll be back shortly with another post. I’m catching back up after a drama-filled week.

#OpPolygone

First read these: http://deepfreeze.it/journo.php?j=Samit_Sarkar , http://deepfreeze.it/journo.php?j=Alexa_Ray_Corriea

A grand total of:

27 unethical articles/mentions about Disney infinity.
15 unethical articles about Harmonix.
It’s ridiculous that despite the FTC going to Gawker, despite a huge ethic reform, we see shit like this. When we first saw it allot of us (I hope) sent emails to Polygon telling them about this, we were obviously ignored.

So now it’s time to escalate. Enter #OpPolygone

We’re taking this to the FTC, I’ve already spoken to someone there and been given the all clear, but, to prove everything checks out here is what I have found from the FTC:

Truth in Advertising: https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/media-resources/truth-advertising

Advertisement endorsements: https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/media-resources/truth-advertising (notice that it says this applies to blogs)

Endorsement guide: https://www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/ftcs-endorsement-guides-what-people-are-asking

With that out of the way, I’ve done a very easy step by step guide for those of you who don’t know where to even begin, it’s very easy and will take you about 5-10 minutes.

Before we begin, here is the site you will need: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1
Maximize it if the words are all jumbled.

There are 7 steps in total, I’ve made it very quick and easy for you all. If you already know what you’re doing skip to step 4 and 6

Tip: It’s a conflict of interest. It’s unfair to consumers and to content creators who need Polygon for fair, unbiased coverage.
