I just woke up a couple hours ago, so I’m done with my rounds with the GamerGate community, and I met my Twitter quota. I wanted to sound off on something before I took a trip to the store in this fucking snow. I know all you guys have most likely already heard about Wu’s PAX East press release, but it pissed me off so much, that I had to speak on it regardless. Also, let’s face it, Brianna Wu does know how to promote a classic media stunt. We saw it last week with her insane column calling on President Obama to arrest Hotwheels Brennan. We’ve seen it before with her Nightline appearance. It’s what she does. But this time, her act is particularly bizarre.

Despite the fact that nothing like what was depicted in the shameful SVU episode has ever occurred at any gaming conference ever, Brianna Wu has decided to cancel her booth at PAX East. The thing is, she’s still going to PAX. She’s still gonna be taking meetings. So what’s the danger? Oh, that’s right. She just wanted to create a media storm to capitalize on the SVU trash. When you think of despicable people, you think Wu:

As threats have recently come to encompass Brianna’s family, and appear to be escalating, Giant Spacekat has made the decision to prioritize its family, the employees, and their safety. Specifically, we have chosen to withdraw our presence from the Pax East 2015 Expo Hall, due to a concern that in a crowd of such a volume expected at Pax, the safety of our team can not be guaranteed.

Of note, we are in no way trying to imply that the PAX teams have been uncooperative regarding security requests, nor are we trying to imply that PAX is unsafe, or that the admirable efforts of the volunteer Enforcer team would be inadequate. This is a company specific decision, made out of precaution…

Brianna will still be taking press meetings at Pax East 2015, and those meetings can be set up or requested through our press email address…

So, it’s so fucking dangerous that she can’t have a booth, but she’ll still be there to take meetings. She’s trying to frame this on Twitter as some sacrifice for her employees, and she didn’t like the way the fake SVU character treated hers, etc. It’s all a bunch of tedious bullshit, to be honest with you. I can’t believe there’s anyone with half a brain eating this shit up, but I can already tell you that many are. Although, i have noticed that RT’s looked a little lower than for her past stunts. That’s probably because people are burned out from her bullshit, at least a little bit. We can only hope.

I’ll be back later with my thoughts on the news that came out today about Gawker’s intern lawsuit, and I’ll have some more stuff overnight. Now, wish me luck. I don’t want to wreck my shit in that snow lol.
