David Hogg has been catching barbs on social media over the last month, and rightfully so. When you put yourself out there as an activist, you are fair game to be mocked and criticized. Just last weekend, Hogg said this at the #MarchForOurLives rally…

Parkland student and media ‘icon’ David Hogg kickstarted his speech by placing a price tag at the head of the podium. “I’m going to start off by putting this price tag right here as a reminder for you guys to know how much Marco Rubio took for every student’s life in Florida,” he told the crowd as if to say Rubio cares more about money than innocent lives.

Or this little line of “respectful dialogue,” uttered in a video before the rally took place…

Ahead of next week’s March For Our Lives, Parkland student David Hogg wonders in an ad touting the event, “What if our politicians weren’t the bitch of the NRA?”

Then we have tweets like this from his classmate, Cameron Kasky…

I could list you at least 30 other examples of incendiary and personalized rhetorical attacks from David Hogg and his classmates (or I could point to their on the record bullying of the guy who shot up their school). The idea that they are somehow above it all, angels of the public discourse, is ridiculous just on the face of it. The people pushing that line are progressive political hacks and leftist members of the media. These young adults talk about lowering the voting age to 16 on one hand, but on the other they claim to be just “children” who should be immune to all mockery and criticism on social media.

“Listen to us on guns, we are important voices who should be able to influence the national political debate. But don’t you dare mock us! We’re CHILDREN!”

Laura Ingraham has lost a bunch of blue chip advertisers over this tweet and David Hoggs subsequent call to contact those sponsors because his delicate feelings were hurt.

Even after Ingraham apologized, Hogg has thus far refused to accept it.

In his Thursday night interview with NBC News correspondent Kerry Sanders, Hogg said he did not accept the apology.

“No,” he said. “She only cares about her pocketbook, and that’s just sad.”

You see, the apology is not what is actually being sought here. They want to silence people critical of their third-rate propaganda campaign. Political actors like Hogg want to see individuals like Laura Ingraham broke, beaten, and dead. All of their talk about a calmer, gentler national debate is just that, talk. Their actions show that it’s really all about making speech they disagree with unsupportable by corporations. And the sad part is, it’s working.

At least 11 advertisers have now pulled their support from Ingraham’s show after she mocked Parkland, Fla., high school shooting survivor David Hogg on Wednesday over his college rejections.

Office Depot, TripAdviser, Wayfair, Nestlé, Hulu, Johnson & Johnson…the list goes on. I’m sure it will only increase as we move forward, although it will likely stabilize within a couple weeks, since the attention span of the American populace is extremely short. But, even still, Ingraham made a tactical mistake. It’s not beneficial in any way to apologize to these people. They see it as a sign of weakness. It’s evidence of blood in the water to them. Plus, it gives them more ammunition. Ingraham is basically now admitting that she was wrong, which she wasn’t. It’s just a bad look all the way around. It makes you look weak, it gives a rhetorical advantage to your opponents, it keeps the story going for another few days, and advertisers end up leaving you anyway in the end.

Stop apologizing to communist bullies. It’s that simple.
