Tomi Lahren

I talked about Tomi Lahren’s dispute with TheBlaze the other day, although it ended up being more of a plea for some kind of settlement on abortion. At the time, it had been reported that Ms. Lahren was merely suspended and would be back to work for Glenn Beck’s operation within a week or so. The New York Post is now reporting that’s not the case and she will instead be gone for good.

Tomi Lahren won’t be appearing on Glenn Beck’s multiplatform network, TheBlaze, anymore.

Sources say Lahren — who was suspended last week after flip-flopping on abortion and declaring herself pro-choice — has been banned permanently.

“Glenn is reminding the world of his conservative principles by sidelining Tomi after she insulted conservatives by calling them hypocrites,” one Beck insider told me.

Fans think Beck — once a big Ted Cruz backer — has lost his conservative bona fides. He went on Samantha Bee’s TBS show in December and apologized for being divisive in the past…

“Beck’s trying to reinvent himself,” a former insider told me. “But he’s burned too many bridges.”

So, it looks like Beck is using the Lahren row as a gambit to claw his way back into conservative’s good graces. If so, I doubt it’s going to work. His brand is headed south and I don’t think anything is going to stop that trend. I doubt he will go away completely, but he been irrelevant for a long time. His support of Ted Cruz during last year’s presidential election further cemented that fact.

As for Lahren, who knows where she will end up. But I as I said in the last post, I have to imagine that all three cable news networks would be interested in her services. Given her pro-choice comments, I think she might fit in even better with CNN or MSNBC as one of their “house conservatives,” although Fox could very well make a play as well. Regardless, moving on from TheBlaze is in her long-term best interest.
