Whew, I really wish things would get back to “normal” so that I could keep a regular schedule on this site, but you play the hand you were dealt. I wanted to write this particular post yesterday. It still has some comedic value though, I think, so let’s roll.

In case you missed it, Disney announced that Jon Favreau would be making a new Star Wars live-action series for their new streaming service. The guy has numerous successes to his name, so most people would say this is a pretty solid pick. From The New York Times

Disney has turned to one of its favorite filmmakers, Jon Favreau, to produce and write a live-action “Star Wars” television series for its upcoming streaming service.

Lucasfilm, the Disney-owned “Star Wars” studio, has long used television to expand its galactic storytelling, but all of its previous efforts have been animated. That includes “Star Wars Rebels,” which began in 2014 and runs on the Disney XD cable network.

Disney and Lucasfilm offered no additional details about the untitled project in its announcement on Thursday, although Kathleen Kennedy, the president of Lucasfilm, noted in a statement that Mr. Favreau has a “fluency” with the “Star Wars” universe. Mr. Favreau, for instance, has a role as an actor in “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” set for release on May 25, and provided the voice for the Mandalorian warrior Pre Vizsla in the now-defunct Cartoon Network series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”

Though familiar to audiences from his acting, Mr. Favreau has found big success as a director. His credits for Walt Disney Studios include “Iron Man,” “The Jungle Book” and a live-action version of “The Lion King,” which is scheduled for release next year.

While scrolling Twitter yesterday and taking in this news, I noticed something. Progressive-types we really, really angry about this. Why? Because Disney had the nerve, the unmitigated gall, to announce the hiring of a white man to helm another Star Wars project on International Women’s Day.

This just proves that the push for “diversity” from some quarters is actually a push against white people, and specifically white males, in general. Also, Favreau is Jewish, by the way. Some people would dispute he’s white in the first place, including many Jews. But, whatever. Even if you consider him white, who cares? If you have an issue with this, you most likely hate white people. And if you’re white and have an issue with this, you probably hate yourself.
