What’s up people? I imagine many of you have already heard about R.S. McCain’s latest suspension from Twitter, but let’s recap it anyway. In my interview with him on Saturday, we talked about the new account he was using. It was called @SexTroubleBook, named after, well, the book he wrote. I asked him if he expected it to be banned and he said no. Not only that, he expected that his original account would be reinstated as well. I could see the writing on the wall, unfortunately, which is why I asked the question in the first place. Just as I suspected, his @SexTroubleBook account was banned yesterday.

In response to this, Adam Baldwin, the godfather of GamerGate, has quit Twitter in protest. Here’s what he had to say to the Independent Journal Review

“It’s really a shame that so-called ‘liberal thinkers’ and the so called ‘tolerant crowd’ is intolerant of varying viewpoints. They’re so afraid to hear people disagree with them. Instead of ignoring it or providing their own arguments in return, they say “shut up!”…

“This group-think, Orwellian, so-called Safety Council is really killing the wild west of ideas that Twitter was,” Baldwin laments. “That’s what made Twitter fun. You could run across all sorts of differing viewpoints. That is what free speech is all about. As long as you’re not threatening people with violence, have at it.”

“Joss Whedon got off Twitter and that really shocked me,” Baldwin says, referencing the Avengers director quitting the platform last year, “Sarkeesian had a big hand in Joss leaving.”…

We asked Baldwin which social network his fans could now find his musings, “I like Instagram,” he says, “But I don’t really know yet.”

He’s not the only one leaving, either. Science fiction author and Sad Puppies originator Larry Correia is also abandoning the service…

I’ve seen many people talk about leaving Twitter over all this, but as always, I will stay until banned. I’m pretty sure that will eventually occur, so I’m also looking into alternatives. Instagram is a thought, like Mr. Baldwin mentioned. You can find my Insta profile here. I’m also on Tsu, FreezePeach, and good old Facebook. I don’t imagine that Twitter will stop purging anytime soon, if ever, but we’ll see what happens. I’ve spent the last hour trying to delete all my old tweets, but I don’t know if that process is going to work correctly. I’ll give it another go tomorrow.
