SPLC

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is an activist outlet whose goal is to slander prominent voices on the right, or in alternative media in general, regardless of whether or not they engage in white supremacist behavior. I’ve been targeted by them on multiple occasions myself and I’m sure it will happen again in the future. They’ve called me alt-right, even though I’m not. In addition, they spotlighted an unfortunate folly in my personal life, which is probably the most fair thing they’ve done regarding this site, now that I think about it. I would laugh at them too, if misfortune strikes.

In fact, that’s why I’m here now. You see, the SPLC was just forced to issue a half-assed apology days after falsely smearing multiple lefty journalists as agents, knowing or unknowing, of the Russian federation and their fascist allies in the West. The whole thing is laughable just on the face of things, but that’s how these idiots really think these days. Either that, or they cynically use such talking points as a way to slime and discredit their political opponents. In fact, the latter explanation is far more likely, in my opinion.

Anyway, here’s the full apology that was just released…

On March 9, 2018, we posted an article on our Hatewatch blog entitled “The multipolar spin: how fascists operationalize left-wing resentment.”

Shortly after its publication, we received complaints registered by or on behalf of several journalists mentioned in the article that it falsely described one or another of them as white supremacists, fascists, and/or anti-Semites, and falsely accused them of engaging in a conspiracy with the Putin regime to promote such views. Because neither we nor the article’s author intended to make any such accusations, we took it down while we re-examined its contents.

That re-examination has caused us to conclude that, while the intent of the article, which we thought was clear at the time of publication, was to show only that individuals on the left share some policy views with respect to multipolarism that are also held by the far right and/or appear on far-right media and conferences advocating them, the article did not make that point as clearly as it could or should have.

Accordingly, we have decided not to re-post it. In addition, we extend a sincere apology to those who believe they have been falsely described in it, including Max Blumenthal, Ben Norton, Tim Pool, Rania Khalek, and Brian Becker, and disclaim, as clearly as we can, any intention to suggest that any of them are white supremacists, fascists, and/or anti-Semites, that they hold such views, or that they are engaged in a conspiracy with the Russian government to promote such views or otherwise.

Of course, this entire statement a pathetic joke that seeks to minimize the damage to this disgraceful organization, which was founded and is still heavily influenced by a direct-mail shyster. Also keep in mind, they didn’t issue this “apology” willingly. It only came after Max Blumenthal and his attorneys pushed them into a corner.

The scumbag SPLC needs to be called out and excoriated at every single turn. They’re smearing any dissenters from the progressive agenda and they also want to kick people like me off social media (which they’re actively working to do). But that’s another article entirely. The point is, this outfit should be high up on the list of concerns for any person who cares about free speech and an open internet. The SPLC is an enemy to both.
