Subnautica

In case you needed another reminder that the video game industry has become hostile to views that fall outside of the progressive propaganda parade, here you go. A guy was recently fired from a dev team that goes by the name of Unknown Worlds, (they’re the makers of Subnautica) for having the audacity, the unmitigated gall, to state his political preferences on a social media platform. Oh, and he made a joke about attack helicopters.

Clearly, this man has no place in civilized society if he’s willing to perpetrate such atrocities.

Did I mention the man in question, Simon Chylinski, was the sound designer for Subnautica, a game that has been repeatedly singled out for its stellar audio component?

The sound in particular has been praised by players. Sea creatures all have distinct sounds, and the soundtrack changes depending on which area of the game players are in.

There were no calls for violence or anything like that in his original tweets, by the way, just very moderate anti-SJW stuff. But here’s how the cesspool known as Kotaku described the behavior…

Twitter users subsequently found many questionable statements in Chylinski’s Twitter feed, including tweets about immigration claiming “importing random ppl from the 3rd world is also importing 3rd world tier crime rates and IQ.” Another tweet mocked a poll on YouTube about gender diversity by referencing attack helicopters, a meme commonly used to make light of transgender issues. Other tweets make light of global pay inequalities between men and women, praise colonialism, or reference SJW logic.” While some of these statements seem to be made at least in part as trolling, it was enough for Unknown Worlds to take action.

QUESTIONABLE STATEMENTS!? Good lord, we can’t have that! Of course there wasn’t actually anything at all questionable about what Mr. Chylinski tweeted out. It seemed pretty spot on if you ask me. But nonetheless, he’s now out of a job thanks to the same shitheads I’ve been writing about on this site for years. I’m sure he will be supported by gamers who don’t give a fuck about SJW propaganda, but it still has to be a tough blow after putting so much effort into the game (effort that was recognized as stellar by the people who actually bought and played the game, aka Unknown Worlds’ paying customers).

Here’s what Chylinski had to say to DANGEROUS, in case you are interested…

“They began asking me how I would react if they hired a Muslim or trans person. I said I’d debate them like anyone else on the team if I disagreed with them,” said Chylinski. “They said that this would create an unwelcoming working environment and that they see it as a problem that almost only white men are working there, and they need more diversity and that what I said would make that difficult to achieve.”

He goes on to say his ex-employers are good people, minus the time they tried to end his career over an attack helicopter tweet. However, they just seem like a bunch of cowards if you ask me.

UPDATE: At least the guy still has a sense of humor about all this…
