Before I get into my main stories for this evening, I wanted to briefly spotlight a recent discovery by FartToContinue. He located Phil Fish’s old DeviantArt account, and it has some interesting factoids directly from the horse’s mouth. Fish should have done a better job scrubbing his shit, I guess. Let’s examine some of the excerpts.
Here’s the first key entry from Fish:
As you can see, this is Phil Fish directly addressing Shawn McGrath’s departure over creative differences. A few months later, he posted another entry. He had finally found himself a new partner, but the question is, how much of McGrath’s work did these two steal? We do know Fish can’t actually create any code, by his own admission. I don’t want to make it sound like he did nothing on the game, though, as art is pretty fucking important lol. Still, him getting all this credit in the press is a little insane.
It would take McGrath having some balls for us to get confirmation that Fish robbed his code, so I won’t hold my breath. He’s likely afraid that the SJWs will try and ruin his career. Given the ties Fish has/had I think he’s probably right. But if no one ever stands up against this sort of thing, the thievery will never stop. GamerGate will continue to dig, but without McGrath coming clean, I’m not sure if Phil Fish will ever be fully exposed.
