VICE Has Disabled Archiving Sites To Stop People Using Their Own Words Against Them
VICE has posted a lot of stupid article, and I mean a lot of them. Topics such as ‘Why tipping stereotypes make dinging shitty for people of color‘, ‘The radical queer quest for a hetero-free nation‘ or ‘The Year in Male Tears‘. Usually, I would link the archives to these posts so we could all laugh together. I like posting archive links for two reasons. Firstly, it shows the original article just in case the author decides to make some changes to it. Secondly, we link them here at TTR just in case site decides to delete it, because what a lose that would be. VICE is certainly no stranger to having their words thrown back at their face. Which is precisely why it’s no surprise they’ve decided to disable ‘right wing archiving sites’.
It amazing how VICE cower behind words such as ‘Islamophobia’ and ‘bigotry’ to hide from consequences of their righteous words.
‘…used by ring-wing activists to discredit us and other reputable news outlets on popular forums and sub-reddits by having archived articles…without giving us a chance to update, remove or edit them before discrediting us..’
The cry baby behaviour is astonishing. Your so-called ‘ethical journalism’ should be held accountable for the rubbish it spews.
VICE has written about their distaste for archive sites before in a piece called ‘Dear GamerGate: Please Stop Stealing Our Shit‘. As if anyone with an ounce of self-respect would pass off VICE’s insane rambling as their own. I respect myself, thank you very much.
‘If you want to read video game news on Kotaku, or IGN, or hell, even Motherboard, you could go to those publications’ websites, peruse the content there, and help pay for the work by passively consuming advertisements. Or, you could go to Archive.today, a site that disgruntled GamerGate members are using to illegally divert traffic from websites the movement says it’s protesting.’
The above piece will leave you in stitches so please give it a read, no matter your opinion on GamerGate. In fact I insist you do, just so you can make Jason Koebler dream for views come true.
A Vice writer calling me disgusting. I'll take that as a compliment, sir.
