Let’s take a short break from the fallout over my recent article on the new Mass Effect game. I’ll have another post about it tonight, but first, I want to bring you more information on yet another hate hoax incident. It seems that virtually every single “hate crime” reported by the media over the last 4 or 5 months has turned out to be completely fabricated. Many of the perpetrators have ended up with criminal charges.

Now, we have one more to add to the list…

Arizona police have arrested four suspects in an apparently anti-Semitic act of vandalism that made national headlines in December.

The Chandler Police Department says that a 19-year-old man and three boys were responsible for dismantling a Jewish family’s PVC pipe menorah and turning it into a swastika while the family slept.

The police department said Clive Jamar Wilson, 19, will face charges of criminal trespass and aggravated criminal damage for the destruction of the family’s yard decoration. Three boys, who were not named because they are younger than 18, face the same charges in juvenile court. Kevin Quinn, a police spokesman, said police are still investigating and have not determined whether to label the actions a hate crime.

This was portrayed as some act of alt-right terror when it happened. Clearly, rabid antisemitic Trump supporters were to blame for this act of vile hatred! No, as it turns out, it was more of a practical joke done by a black youths. The group is facing two heavy-duty felonies as a result, which seems a bit overzealous. Certainly they should be charged, but that’s a little much. Still, this was admittedly a boneheaded play to make.

Speaking of boneheaded…

I thought it was worth pointing out that yet again, the fake news practitioners have ended up with egg on their face.
