So, I just got done watching the Super Bowl. To the surprise of no one, especially me, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots brought home another championship. Some of you may know this already, but I was rooting against Brady and the Pats tonight. This is not because of some big-brained moral crusade. I don’t cheer on sports teams based on politics or whatever some third-rate progressive blogger churns out. Mainly, I just don’t like the fact that Brady has been punishing my teams for 20 years, including in the AFC Championship a couple weeks back. There’s also a couple controversies surrounding some past victories, but I’m not going to get into all that, because I doubt anyone here cares.

But there is one major silver lining to the Patriots notching up another title: It’s causing lefties all over the nation to lose their shit online. Why, you ask? Well, the media has been pushing the narrative that supporting Boston’s NFL team is somehow racist during the entire run-up to the Super Bowl.

Just read some of the tripe that recently appeared in the Daily Beast

When you root for the Patriots, you are associating yourself with a virulent and revolting strain of politics that seeks to Make America Great Again—which is to say, white, European, English-speaking. And look, I understand if you’ve been rooting for Boston teams your whole life. Fandom is a hard drug to quit. But please, look at yourself, look at who these guys put out for, and reconsider. Think about if you would want to find yourself in a crowd of sweaty, white men chanting WE’RE STILL HERE while a Trump supporter egged you on. Are you one-hundred percent sure you’re comfortable with that?

They’re hardly the only ones, though.

As a result, I already knew tonight was going to be a win for me no matter what happened during the game itself. Here’s a small sampling. These people are seriously enraged about the outcome, and it has nothing to do with the National Football League or the play on the field. They’ve been trained by their media manipulators that the Patriots are racist and they think you should hate them because of that.

I had to screenshot this one, because the woman who originally tweeted it out decided to delete it.

Tragic for her.

She’s just the tip of the spear, though.

The guy above appears to be a very well-adjusted person.

A cruel twist of fate prevented that gay rights activist from using his AMAZING meme. Sad!

There’s so many of these, that I don’t think I have enough time to add a joke for every single one. Here, lemme just post a bunch of them in a row.

For the record, this is what the lady was referring to. I laughed out loud when it happened during the game.

OK, back to the spergs…

I think you probably all get the idea, by this point. It would literally take 30 articles to chronicle every single aspect of the histrionics. I guess what I find so foreign to this mindset, as a lifelong fan, is what I alluded to in the opening paragraph. Why would you voluntarily turn your sporting support into some kind of political statement? I watch sports to get away from politics. Just enjoy the skill and the spectacle, have a beer, and relax. Take your mind off real-life stressors. I feel like many other people feel the same way, which is why the recent politicization of sports coverage has cost ESPN so dearly. Folks just don’t want to see this garbage.

Having read through about 1000 tweets from anti-Trump losers has shown me the light in one regard, however. I completely understand those who cheered on the Patriots simply to see this debasement. It’s been pretty fun.
